JESUS AT THE DOOR OF HIS TOMB

Matthew: 27:61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.27:64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.27:65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.27:66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: 28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.28:8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. 27:59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

Mark: 15:46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.15:47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.16:3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? 16:4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

(King James Bible)

SEPULCHRE: A sepulchre is a chamber that is used as a grave. Depending on who it is and great they are will depend on how build the rooms are built. Very rich with many slaves will have larger ones to hold wifes, and sons.

Above is some scripture that contain the word sepulchre in them. By looking at them you can see that it must be talking about the little room that had been cut out of stone by their slaves.

The question come up of why didn't Jesus open the sepulchre by rolling the stone away Himself or just going through the wall. The reason is Jesus is the Son of God and a fully human. He is the King of Kings and has thousand upon thousand of angles to do His bidding and to serve Him. Rolling the stone away would not be the job of the King of Kings.
