A GIFT OF LOVE

The shepherds came down from the hills,
The wise-men traveled far,
The shepherds saw the angels,
The wise-men saw the star.

"The Son is born, The King of Kings,
Oh; come see where He lays'
Come bring your gift of love and praise,
Oh; worship Him to-day".

They went to Herod's palace,
But He was not within,
But they found Him sleeping sweetly,
In a cave behind the Inn.

The wise-men brought rich gifts of myrrh,
And frankincense and gold,
The shepherds had no gift to give,
Except their love untold.

But few can bring Him gold to-day,
Or precious gems so rare,
but each can bring a gift of love,
Of praise and constant prayer.
