TO DONNA

(FOR HER BRIDAL SHOWER)

Now you've got yourself a feller,
And I think that's mighty nice,
And it won't be very long until,
The "Day of shoes and Rice",

To help you fill the time between,
Now and that fateful hour,
We thought it might be kinda nice,
To have a little shower.

So the girls sat down and made a list,
Of friends who would maybe come,
To a little get-together here,
And have a little fun.

Now when a gal decides to wed,
It takes a lot of stuff,
To keep her house a-running good,
For she never has enough.

She may have pans to bake a pie,
And a stove to bake it in,
But she's gonna have a problem,
Without a rolling pin.

She may have lots of pretty plates,
With cups and saucers too,
But she's got a have a couple pans,
If she wants to make a stew.

Her house may have some pretty floors,
And rugs for every room,
But they won't be pretty very long,
If she doesn't have a broom.

So I'll try to help you out a bit,
And add a thing or too,
But if you don't get everything,
I'll tell you what to do.
