LET THE CHILDREN COME

I dedicated this to Elam Clemons a young man that was saved when he was a junior and is still true to the Lord.

"Let the children come to me",
And a child so young and fair,
Knelt at an alter and God's hand,
Formed another jewel rare.

And this child grew in stature,
And he grew in  love and grace,
And you knew he was a child of God,
By the radiance of his face.

I can not say he never slipped,
As sometimes young folks do,
But I never saw him turn his back,
On what he knew was true.

He preached when he was twelve years old,
And everyone was stirred,
They knew he'd been alone with God,
And witnessed what he'd heard.

"And a child shall lead them",
Those words still true to-day,
For the path this young man traveled,
Helped many along the way.

His eyes were bright; his voice was clear,
His testimony true,
And may you answer "Here am I",
If God should call you too.
