Genesis 01 & Commatary

KING JAMES BIBLE KING JAMES 1611 VERSES TO VERSES THE NEW AMERICAN BIBLE

CREATION

1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, "Let there be light: and there was light.

4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5.And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6.And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7.And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8.And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9.And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10.And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11.And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12.And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13.And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14.And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15.And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16.And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17.And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18.And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

CREATION

1 In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth,

2 the earth was a formless wasteland, and darkness covered the abyss, while a mighty wind swept over the waters.

3 Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

4 God saw how good the light was. God then separated the light from the darkness.

5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." Thus evening came, and morning followed - the first day.

6 Then God said, "Let there be a dome in the middle of the waters, to separate one body of water from the other." And so it happened:

7 God made the dome, and it separated the water above the dome from the water below it.

8 God called the dome "the sky." Evening came, and morning followed - the second day.

9. Then God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered into a single basin, so that the dry land may appear." And so it happened: the water under the sky was gathered into its basin, and the dry land appeared.

10 God called the dry land "the earth," and the basin of the water he called "the sea." God saw how good it was.

11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth vegetation: every kind of plant that bears seed and every kind of fruit tree on earth that bears fruit with its seed in it." And so it happened:

12 the earth brought forth every kind of plant that bears seed and every kind of fruit tree on earth that bears fruit with its seed in it. God saw how good it was.

13 Evening came, and morning followed - the third day.

14 Then God said: "Let there be lights in the dome of the sky, to separate day from night. Let them mark the fixed times, the days and the years,

15 and serve as luminaries in the dome of the sky, to shed light upon the earth." And so it happened:

16 God made the two great lights, the greater one to govern the day, and the lesser one to govern the night; and he made the stars.

17 God set them in the dome of the sky, to shed light upon the earth,

18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. God saw how good it was.

19 Evening came, and morning followed - the fourth day.

20 Then God said, "Let the water teem with an abundance of living creatures, and on the earth let birds fly beneath the dome of the sky." And so it happened:

21 God created the great sea monsters and all kinds of swimming creatures with which the water teems, and all kinds of winged birds. God saw how good it was,

22 and God blessed them, saying, "Be fertile, multiply, and fill the water of the seas; and let the birds multiply on the earth."

23 Evening came, and morning followed - the fifth day.

24 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth all kinds of living creatures: cattle, creeping things, and wild animals of all kinds." And so it happened:

25 God made all kinds of wild animals, all kinds of cattle, and all kinds of creeping things of the earth. God saw how good it was.

26 Then God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the cattle, and over all the wild animals and all the creatures that crawl on the ground."

27 God created man in his image; in the divine image he created him; male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them, saying: "Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth."

29 God also said: "See, I give you every seed-bearing plant all over the earth and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit on it to be your food;

30 and to all the animals of the land, all the birds of the air, and all the living creatures that crawl on the ground, I give all the green plants for food." And so it happened.

31 God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good. Evening came, and morning followed - the sixth day.

IMPORTANT OLD TESTAMENT EVENTS IN GENESIS
CREATION OF ADAM AND EVE (Gen 1:26-27 ‘ 2:7 ; 21-22)

The Old Testament begins with manmade in the image of God (Gen 1:26) and man being defeated by Satan in the garden (Gen 2:8)
GENESIS 1:1=====REVELATION 21:1 Then I saw a new Heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the Sea was no more. RSV
GENESIS 1:5=====REVELATION 21:25 And its gates shall never be shut by day and there shall be no night There. RSV
GENESIS 1:16 =====REVELATION 21:4 He will wipe away ever tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning , nor crying , nor pain, and more for the former things have passed away. RSV

Chapter 1 CREATION
1st DAY Verses 1-5
CREATION OF EARTH, AND PROBABLY ANGELS

The Holy Spirit vibrated upon the earth causing our energy source to begin to flow with waves of heat and sound magnetism, causing the created universe to be energized. Causing the earth to start it rotation.
Three types of force fields were placed into effect.

  1. Nuclear

The force between the proton and neutron within the atom

  1. Gravitational.

The force between two objects

  1. Electro-magnetic

The force between the electron and the nucleus of an atom

THE SIZE OF THE UNIVERSE IS NOT KNOWN, THE SHAPE OF IT IS. (IF YOU LOOK AT THIS PICTURE AND ONE DOT BEING HELD IN BY GRAVATION,BUT NOT ALLOWED TO BE PULLED IN BECAUSE OF THE PLANET, STAR, MOON, ROTATING, SPINING AGAINST THE GRAVATION PULL)

2nd DAY Verses 6-8
SEPARATION OF WATER, OF THE LOWER AND UPPER BY SPACE

The water was made up of two forms.

1. Land based water in shallow ocean, rivers, and lake beds,
2. Water-in the form of an invisible translucent vapor in the atmospheric

A FIRMAMENT CALLED “HEAVEN” WHICH IS A LAYER OF AIR AND/OR ALSO CALLED ATMOSPHERE.

Psalms 19:2 The heavens declare the glory of God; the firmament proclaims the works of his hands.

Heaven is plural in the Hebrew: three heavens mentioned in the bible, [Gen 1:1 2:1]

I. First heaven: home of the birds and clouds; [ Dan 4:12; Mt 6:26]
II. Second Heaven: Home of the sun, moon, and stars; [ PS 19: 1]
III. Third Heaven: Home of the Angels and departed Saints. [ 2 Cor 12:2]

The creation of Angles is not mentioned but there are two thoughts:
 1) They were present at the creation of the earth. on the first day.
2.)The second thought is Job 38:7 placing their creation at the same time as that of the Stars on the fourth day.

DEPARTED SAINTS: 2 Cor 12:2 2 I know someone in Christ who, fourteen years ago (whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows), was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know that this person (whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows) 4 was caught up into Paradise and heard ineffable things, which no one may utter. (NAB)

3rd DAY
CREATION of plant life 9-13

The bible totally refutes theistic evolution, Darwin said life began with a glob of scum floating on some remote ocean surface. Moses in Genesis on How God created everything.
A firmament called "Heaven" which is a layer of air and/or called the atmosphere.
A tropical climate, and vegetation growing everywhere. No heavy rains, each morning dew would give the plants enough water for each day.

4th DAY
CREATION OF THE SUN, MOON, AND STARS 1:14-19

If for some reason someone says that light was given on the first day, they are referring to the physical light from the Holy Spirit moving over the land which was only a temporary light.
These heavenly bodies (Sun, Moon, Stars) were to work together in a threefold manner.
FIRST: They showed God great creative work.
1. Ps 8:4 When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars that you set in place—
2. Rom 1:19-20      19 For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them. 20 Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse.
SECOND: They divide the seasons, Years, days from night, this enables man to be able to create a calendar and conduct his daily life.
THIRD: Each light source works together to replace the temporary light source given on the 1st day. The Sun and moon also have an influence on our planet. Ocean tides and many other things

God created the Sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day, why not on the first day?

The belief is that it was about priority and prevention.
1.            Priority: All of this is a lesson for man to show God great wisdom. God could have made man the first day, but then where would God of put man. Man must have oxygen, food, and water to live. The world was the base for everything, Everything God did was in perfect order for each one to support the other. Earth, then water and the heavens, then plant life, oxygen and water was needed to support the plant life, and man. The sun, moon, and stars support plants, animals, and man.
2.            Prevention: God wanted his people to worship the creator or God. This is part of the free will that God has given us. He doesn’t want us to be his slaves, but to worship Him because we want to. God also didn’t want to place an priority on the sun. Generation after Generation has worshipped the Sun.
Jas. 1:16-18,  "16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers: 17 all good giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no alteration or shadow caused by change. 18 He willed to give us birth by the word of truth that we may be a kind of first fruits of his creatures."

On day four, God created the sun, moon and stars. If you think about it these three items have a great effect on our every day. Separating the day from night, on our ocean tide and many other things.

Let us talk about the days, are they literally twenty-four hours in them at the beginning.

All the evidence I see points toward “Yes”

Held by many old Earth creationists is “the day-age-theory” which is when people believe the days of creation were prolonged periods of time, each one lasting tens of thousands of years.
Held by the Young Earth Creationist is that God in six literal days created the Earth.
Reasons
1.            Most Hebrew Language Scholars believe it.
2.            Moses believed it Ez20:11    31:17
3.            The Word “day” (Hebrew Yomi) numerical indicates this.
4.            Davie believed it (Ps 33:6-9)
5.            Hebrew Structure itself to teach it
6.            No place in the Bible or science is there a contradiction.

             5th DAY 1:20-23
CREATION of fish and fowl

FISH: From a fish an half inch long to the Blue Whale that is heavier than a modern  Boeing 737 Jet Passenger Plane. It can weigh over 150 tons and reach a length of 110 feet, still the shark whale is larger yet.
FOWL:  God created the Hummingbird that can flap its wings on the average of 53 times a second.
6th DAY 1:24-31
CREATION OF ALL LIVING CREATURES, CATTLE, CREEPTING THINGS, AND WILD ANIMALS OF ALL KINDS.
The first strong evidence of the Trinity in the Old Testament or the beginning of the bible. 1:26 "Let us make man in our image, God was talking to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Gen 11:7 Ps 2:7; 45:7; 110:1 Isa 48:16
Let us make man to our image: This image of God in man, is not in the body, but in the soul, which is a spiritual substance, endued with understanding and free will.
In verse 26 chapter 1 “Let us make man in our image”      According to the biblical chronology the creation of man was about 4000 BC. The creation of the universe may have been countless ages earlier.
God spoke here in the plural number, to insinuate the plurality of persons in the Deity.
There Is three in One, but all three does a different responsibility you could call it. The Father gives the Creation Commands, The Son does the manual labor of the Trinity, with the Spirit hovering over ever creations, sustaining and improving it. All three working toward the same Goal.
