JERUSALEM'S CHURCH (Acts)

1. Was pastored by James (15:13) with at least 3120 (2:41) starting at Pentecost (2:47)
2. Performed many signs and wonders.
3. Has many things in common (2:44 45 4:32-35)
4. Were all in one accord (2:46)
5. Spent many hours in prayer (2:42 3:1 4:24 12:5-17)
6. At every opportunity they witnessed (3:12 5:42 4:33)
7. Radiated Jesus (4:13 6:15)
8. God kepted them pure (Had standards) (5:1-11 8:18-24)
9. Grew constantly ( 2:47 5:14 4:4 12:24)
10. Endured persectuion (4:1-3 4:14-21 5:17-41 7:54-60 8:1-3 12:1-4)
11. Appointed deacons (6:1-7)
12. Practiced the Lord's Supper and baptism (2:41 46)
13. Sent forth missionaries (8:5; 14; 11:22 13:1-3; 15:22; 27
14. The meeting on circumcision was held here. (Acts 15)
15. Were Spirit-led people (2:1-18, 4:31, 13:2-4 15:28)
16. A church that preached the Word (2:16-36 , 3:13-26, 5:42, 6:4, 7:1-53
17. A church that contended for the faith (15:1-21)
18. Apparently later compromised with the Judaizers (21:18-25)

 

ANTIOCH OF SYRIA'S CHRUCHES

1. Following the martyrdom of Stephen was the persecution period which is when this church was founded. (Acts 11:19)
2. The church experienced a great ingathering of Souls (11:21)
3. Barnabas was sent by the Jerusalem church to check it out. (11:22)
4. Barnabas became the first pastor (11:23)
5. Many joined the church at this time. (11:24)
6. Saul was called by Barnabas to become the associate pastor (11:25)
7. Both of them would work there a year. (11:26)
8. It was here the term "Christians" started being used.
9. The Antioch church doing well took up a large love offering for the needy ones in Jerusalem (11:30)
10. Later the two used this church as a headquarters after their first missionary trip (14:26) and after the Jerusalem Council (15:34)
11. Silas was from this church (15:34)
12. At Antioch is where Paul set Peter straight on the matters of Legalism (Gal 2:11)

 

ANTIOCH OF PISIDIA'S CHURCH

1. Started by Paul during his first missionary trip (13:14)
2. Paul's first recorded sermon (13:16)
3. Converts coming out of a meeting is how the church was formed.(13:13)

ANTIOCH OF THE CHURCH IN SARDIS (REV 3:1-6)

1. The church was dead even with having a reputation
2. They were to strengthen what little good remained in the church

ANTIOCH OF THE CHURCH IN PHILADELPHIA (REV3:7-13)

1. The Church obeyed God's word during persecution even though it wasn't very strong

ANTIOCH OF THE CHURCH IN LAODIEA (REV 3:14-22)

1. In the New Testament this was the worst church listed.
2. The church was neither hot nor cold
3. In reality they were wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked but they bragged about their wealth, claiming to need nothing.
4. God admonished them to totally repent and to allow them to reenter into a fellowship with Him.

ANTIOCH OF THE CHURCH IN EPHESUS

1. The church was founded by Paul on his second trip (Acts 18:19)
2. Apollos, Timothy and the Apostle John may of pastored this church.
3. Paul wrought many miracles and saw much fruit from this church. (Acts 19:11-41)
a. Many wicked books were destroyed or burned
b. The false goddess Diana was challenged by the church.
4.Paul went door-to-door soul-winning for Jesus. (Acts 20:17-21)
5. The only church to received letters from two different New testament writes, Paul wrote Ephesians (Eph 1:1) and John the Apostle (Rev 2:1-7) According to John's letter the Ephesus's church Worked hard and possedssed patience; held high church standards; suffered for Christ; had ldft their first love-Jesus; They had to repent, and return to Christ else their candlestick would be removed; and hated the deeds of the licentious Nicolaitans.
