CONNIES BABY SHOWER
Welcome Little Hinsenkamp,
Welcome Baby Dear,
Your Grandma's getting anxious,
As "your day" is growing near.
It matters not if you will be,
A lovely girl or boy,
For God has only promised.
A baby to enjoy.
Your hair may be as blond as Moms,
Or dark like dear old dad's,
I know you'll have the sweetest smile,
That a baby ever had.
I've waited nearly twenty years,
For another child that's "grand",
So if I tend to spoil you some,
I hope folks understand.
I pray you'll grow as babies grow,
With a sunny disposition,
Your grandma thinks you'll be the best,
In any situation.
I made a baby quilt for you,
To keep you tootsies warm,
And I tucked a lot of prayers inside,
To keep you safe from harm.
My prayer is not for beauty,
Not even wealth or fame,
But as you grow to adulthood,
You'll honor Jesus' name.
So here's a toast to you, my sweet,
May dreams and prayers come true,
And though I can not give you much,
I give my love to you.
