HAPPY BIRTHDAY

DON BARNES MAY 10-1994

I guess that's pretty good,
Considering that your nickname,
For years is just plain Clod.
So you've reached the half a hundred mark,

I hope you don't wind up too proud,
If you know what I mean.
Because you must remember,
You're only half a team.

They say you don't need rocking chairs,
Recliners' more your style,
And the one next to the table,
Will usually bring a smile.

You left the pretty sunny south,
For Indiana snow,
What makes the weather change so much,
I'm sure you'll never know.

But folks up north are just as warm,
As those you left behind,
And even if we do talk queer,
We're really pretty kind.

Now we all wish you many years,
And happiness that's true,
But there is not an awful lot,
That we can do for you.

So as you stop to celebrate,
I hope you keep in mind,
Don't expect the sun to dim,
Till two thousand ninety-nine.
