I WALK BY FAITH
I asked the Lord to save my soul,
I knew, not what to do,
What could I give? Where could I start?
The debt was great, I knew,
And then my Savior answered,
"I paid the price for you".
I asked the Lord for added grace,
For help along the way,
I feared the many years ahead,
And the pit-falls, day by day,
And then my Savior answered,
"You need grace for just to-day"
I asked the Lord for riches,
My income was so slight,
I promised Him I'd share my wealth,
Give what I thought was right,
And then He answered softly.
"Do you recall the widow's mite"?
I asked the Lord for comfort,
When my heart was full of pain,
For the one I loved had left me,
That I would not see again,
And then He reassured me,
That my loss, was but his gain,
I asked the Lord to show the way,
To travel shore to shore,
To take the Gospel to the world,
That had not heard before,
Then again He answered softly,
"You can start with those next door"
I asked the Lord, for extra strength,
When Satan tempted sore,
I told Him I was all alone,
And could not stand much more,
Then He gently answered me,
"I’ve gone that way before"
Now I try to walk each day,
As I feel He’s leading me,
I trust He’ll stay close by my side,
Through the dangers I can't see,
By faith I’ve left my fears behind,
I trust Him now completely.
