ONCE LONG AGO
Once long ago the angels sang,
Of peace, good will to men.
Has man forgotten it was sung,
For now as well as then?
Once long ago, a bright star shone,
Above wee Bethlehem.
Have men refused to know it shines,
As brightly now for them?
Once long ago, the message came,
To tell of Jesus birth,
Why does the human-race refuse,
To know God rules the earth?
Once long ago these words were said,
Yield not to sin and strife.
Ye who receive My blessed Son,
Shall have eternal life.
Let us to-day hold fast to truth,
And spread the story far.
Let us shed light, to lead men on,
To God’s eternal Star.
