TEEN AGE HAPPINESS IS

HAPPINESS IS a grade "A" card,
When the semester test was extra hard.

HAPPINESS IS when your all alone,
When the first boy calls you on the phone.

HAPPINESS IS when a dress looks good,
And you fill it out like you know you should.

HAPPINESS IS that last second shot,
That broke the tie, the home team got.

HAPPINESS IS when a beard appears,
After you've shaved a couple years.

HAPPINESS IS when the boy next door.
Don't call you "Skinny" anymore.

HAPPINESS IS your first set of wheels,
Nobody knows how good it feels.

HAPPINESS IS when you say good-night,
And for once her folks turned out the light.

HAPPINESS IS when your low on cash,
And you get paid to dump the trash.

HAPPINESS IS a date 'not bad',
When you didn't have to see her Dad.

HAPPINESS IS the teachers praise,
In front of the 'Brain' that gets Straight 'A'S'

HAPPINESS IS when the annuals due,
And all your pictures flatter you.

HAPPINESS IS when you need a buck,
Dad gives you ten, that's more than luck.

HAPPINESS IS when you change your hair,
And that special fellow stops to stare.

HAPPINESS IS a report that that's due,
And on T.V. is a book review.

HAPPINESS IS when Mom breaks down,
And let's you have that strapless gown.

HAPPINESS IS that Big Affair,
When you have the only orchid there.

HAPPINESS IS a note and smile,
From the football star, in the second aisle.

HAPPINESS IS when your first date,
Doesn't make you sit and wait.

HAPPINESS IS when you're out of dough ,
And your date suggests a TV. show.

HAPPINESS IS a chance to date
A freshman here, from out of state.

HAPPINESS IS when your first blind date,
Doesn't swing like a rusty gate.

HAPPINESS IS all this and more,
Lots of dates and friends aglow.
