WHERE IS YOUR WEALTH?
I used to think that I was poor,
But then God let me see.
It wasn't money in the bank,
that proved prosperity.
You may have a stately mansion,
filled with art by famous names,
All with in a few short hour,
see it all go up in flames.
Do you have a wealthy relative?
That you know is millionaire?
But are you really certain,
that you will be an heir?
Do you look across your planted fields?
And start to count your gain?
But are you sure that you'll be here,
To harvest all the grain?
Or do you count on stocks and,
Bonds to see you through the years?
But if you find you're all alone,
Will they help to dry your tears?
You may invest in diamonds,
That sparkle in the sun.
They can't compare to shining eyes,
In a precious little one.
It may be money in the bank,
That you rely upon.
With an accident or sickness,
You may find that it's soon gone.
You were making better wages,
Than you ever had before.
You were spending money right and Left,
Till your workplace closed it's door.
Or you've taken on some extra jobs,
And no time to spend at home.
Then when you think you have some time,
Your kids are grown and gone.
You've saved money for retirement,
And made plans what you would do.
But God has called your help mate home,
there is no one left but you.
I'll never have much earthly goods,
But God gives what I need.
So my wealth is in the future,
It will come from spiritual seed.
I'll try to send my treasures home,
That God may let them grow.
But though I don't know what I'm worth,
Some day He'll let me know.
So you who think you're living well,
Be sure you die the same.
Send all your earthly treasures home to God,
In Jesus' name.
