1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bullock for the sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread;
3And gather thou all the congregation together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
4And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
5And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the LORD commanded to be done.
6And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.
7And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the curious girdle of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith.
8And he put the breastplate upon him: also he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim.
9And he put the mitre upon his head; also upon the mitre, even upon his forefront, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded Moses.
10And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.
11And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them.
12And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.
13And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and put coats upon them, and girded them with girdles, and put bonnets upon them; as the LORD commanded Moses.
14And he brought the bullock for the sin offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock for the sin offering.
15And he slew it; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make reconciliation upon it.
16And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and Moses burned it upon the altar.
17But the bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as the LORD commanded Moses.
18And he brought the ram for the burnt offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.
19And he killed it; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.
20And he cut the ram into pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.
21And he washed the inwards and the legs in water; and Moses burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it was a burnt sacrifice for a sweet savour, and an offering made by fire unto the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
22And he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.
23And he slew it; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.
24And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.
25And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right shoulder:
26And out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before the LORD, he took one unleavened cake, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put them on the fat, and upon the right shoulder:
27And he put all upon Aaron's hands, and upon his sons' hands, and waved them for a wave offering before the LORD.
28And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt offering: they were consecrations for a sweet savour: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
29And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave offering before the LORD: for of the ram of consecration it was Moses' part; as the LORD commanded Moses.
30And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which wasupon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.
31And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and there eat it with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it.
32And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire.
33And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you.
34As he hath done this day, so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you.
35Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.
36So Aaron and his sons did all things which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2Take Aaron and his sonnes with him, and the garments, and the anointing oyle, and a bullocke for the sinne offering, and two rammes, and a basket of vnleauened bread.

6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sonnes, and washed them with water.
7 And he put vpon him the coate, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the Ephod vpon him, and he girded him with the curious girdle of the Ephod, and bound it vnto him therewith.
8And hee put the brest plate vpon him: also he put in the brest plate the Urim and the Thummim.
9And he put the miter vpon his head; also vpon the miter, euen vpon his forefront did hee put the golden plate, the holy crowne, as the Lord commanded Moses.
10And Moses tooke the anointing oile, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.
11And he sprinkled thereof vpon the altar seuen times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the lauer and his foot, to sanctifie them.

14And he brought the bullocke for the sinne offering, and Aaron and his sonnes laid their hands vpon the head of the bullocke for the sinne offering.
15And he slew it, and Moses tooke the blood, and put it vpon the hornes of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and powred the blood at the bottome of the altar, and sanctified it, to make reconciliation vpon it.
16And he tooke all the fat that was vpon the inwards, and the kall aboue the liuer, and the two kidneis, and their fat, and Moses burned it vpon the Altar.
17But the bullocke, and his hide, his flesh and his doung, he burnt with fire without the campe, as the Lord commanded Moses.
18 And he brought the ramme for the burnt offring: and Aaron and his sonnes laid their hands vpon the head of the ramme.
19And he killed it, and Moses sprinkled the blood vpon the Altar round about.
20And he cut the ramme into pieces, and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.

1 The LORD said to Moses,
2 "Take Aaron and his sons, together with the vestments, the anointing oil, the bullock for a sin offering, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened food.
3 Then assemble the whole community at the entrance of the meeting tent."
4 And Moses did as the LORD had commanded. When the community had assembled at the entrance of the meeting tent,
5 Moses told them what the LORD had ordered to be done.
6 Bringing forward Aaron and his sons, he first washed them with water.
7 Then he put the tunic on Aaron, girded him with the sash, clothed him with the robe, placed the ephod on him, and girded him with the embroidered belt of the ephod, fastening it around him.
8 He then set the breastpiece on him, with the Urim and Thummim in it,
9 and put the miter on his head, attaching the gold plate, the sacred diadem, over the front of the miter, at his forehead, as the LORD had commanded him to do.
10 Taking the anointing oil, Moses anointed and consecrated the Dwelling, with all that was in it.
11 Then he sprinkled some of this oil seven times on the altar, and anointed the altar, with all its appurtenances, and the laver, with its base, thus consecrating them.
12 He also poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head, thus consecrating him.
13 Moses likewise brought forward Aaron's sons, clothed them with tunics, girded them with sashes, and put turbans on them, as the LORD had commanded him to do.
14 When he had brought forward the bullock for a sin offering, Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.
15 Then Moses slaughtered it, and taking some of its blood, with his finger he put it on the horns around the altar, thus purifying the altar. He also made atonement for the altar by pouring out the blood at its base when he consecrated it.
16 Taking all the fat that was over the inner organs, as well as the lobe of the liver and the two kidneys with their fat, Moses burned them on the altar.
17 The bullock, however, with its hide and flesh and offal he burned in the fire outside the camp, as the LORD had commanded him to do.
18 He next brought forward the holocaust ram, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.
19 When he had slaughtered it, Moses splashed its blood on all sides of the altar.
20 After cutting up the ram into pieces, he burned the head, the cut-up pieces and the suet;
21 then, having washed the inner organs and the shanks with water, he also burned these remaining parts of the ram on the altar as a holocaust, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him to do.
22 Then he brought forward the second ram, the ordination ram, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.
23 When he had slaughtered it, Moses took some of its blood and put it on the tip of Aaron's right ear, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
24 Moses had the sons of Aaron also come forward, and he put some of the blood on the tips of their right ears, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. The rest of the blood he splashed on the sides of the altar.
25 He then took the fat: the fatty tail and all the fat over the inner organs, the lobe of the liver and the two kidneys with their fat, and likewise the right leg;
26 from the basket of unleavened food that was set before the LORD he took one unleavened cake, one loaf of bread made with oil, and one wafer; these he placed on top of the portions of fat and the right leg.
27 He then put all these things into the hands of Aaron and his sons, whom he had wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
28 When he had received them back, Moses burned them with the holocaust on the altar as the ordination offering, a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.
29 He then took the breast and waved it as a wave offering before the LORD; this was Moses' own portion of the ordination ram. All this was in keeping with the LORD'S command to Moses.
30 Taking some of the anointing oil and some of the blood that was on the altar, Moses sprinkled with it Aaron and his vestments, as well as his sons and their vestments, thus consecrating both Aaron and his vestments and his sons and their vestments.
31 Finally, Moses said to Aaron and his sons, "Boil the flesh at the entrance of the meeting tent, and there eat it with the bread that is in the basket of the ordination offering, in keeping with the command I have received: 'Aaron and his sons shall eat of it.'
32 What is left over of the flesh and the bread you shall burn up in the fire.
33 Moreover, you are not to depart from the entrance of the meeting tent for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed; for your ordination is to last for seven days.
34 The LORD has commanded that what has been done today be done to make atonement for you.
35 Hence you must remain at the entrance of the meeting tent day and night for seven days, carrying out the prescriptions of the LORD; otherwise, you shall die; for this is the command I have received."
36 So Aaron and his sons did all that the LORD had commanded through Moses
v 1-5. This chapter is a fulfillment of what was commanded in Ex. 29. With slight departure in chapter 10, inauguration involves chapters 8-10. Everything for the anointing ceremony is to be assembled. “All” the people would refer to the elders of the people, as pointed out in 9:1 and my notes on Ex. 29:4. Thousands of people may have gathered outside the court to be near the action.
v 6. Water from the laver would have been poured over them as they stood in their linen breeches. See notes on Ex. 29.
v 7-9. The beautiful garments were to call attention to the high priest office, not to Aaron. See detailed notes on Ex. 28:1-39; 29:5,6; 39:1-26.
v 10-13. Moses anointed the tabernacle and all that pertained to it, then poured the oil on Aaron till it ran down his beard and to the skirts of his garments. Aaron’s sons were clothed, but not anointed until v 30, after sacrifice had been made. Aaron is a type of Christ who needed no preparation before anointing, but the other priests needed blood shed first. Notes Ex. 29:7; 30;22-33; 40:13.
v 14-21. This fulfills Ex. 29:10-21, with Moses performing all the ceremony except the laying on of hands on the head of the animal. This had to be personal. This differs from the sin offering of Lev. 4:3-12 in that blood is placed on the horns of the brazen altar rather than the incense altar.
v 22-29. The last sacrifice, the ram of consecration (or ordination) etc., fulfills Ex. 29:19-28 and is similar to Lev. 3:6-11 and 7-28-34 except for the application of the blood on the priests. The wave offering is placed in Aaron’s hands as in Ex. 29, then burned. The breast of the wave offering was waved by Moses and it is specifically stated that this part was for Moses, but later the breast and the left rear quarter was to be food for priests. The Lord’s portion was burned, their portion was eaten.
v 30. The consecration of Aaron’s sons follows Ex. 29:20,21.
v 31,32. Aaron and his sons are to boil the meat, then eat their portion of meat and bread items in the court and burn the leftovers.
v 33-36. Aaron and his sons are to live in the court of the tabernacle seven days until their time of consecration is complete. They were to perform everything told them regarding sacrifices and eating, but could not enter the tabernacle till their ordination was complete. Meanwhile, Moses officiated all the daily ceremonies.
