KING JAMES BIBLE KING JAMES 1611 VERSES TO VERSES THE NEW AMERICAN BIBLE COMMENTARIE

THUS saith the Lord God; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
2 And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.
3 Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the Lord in the sabbaths and in the new moons.
4 And the burnt offering that the prince shall offer unto the Lord in the sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish.
5 And the meat offering shall be an ephah for a ram, and the meat offering for the lambs as he shall be able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah.
6 And in the day of the new moon it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish.
7 And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah.
8 And when the prince shall enter, he shall go in by the way of the porch of that gate, and he shall go forth by the way thereof.
9 But when the people of the land shall come before the Lord in the solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.
10 And the prince in the midst of them, when they go in, shall go in; and when they go forth, shall go forth.
11 And in the feasts and in the solemnities the meat offering shall be an ephah to a bullock, and an ephah to a ram, and to the lambs as he is able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah.
12 Now when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings voluntarily unto the Lord, one shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate.
13 Thou shalt daily prepare a burnt offering unto the Lord of a lamb of the first year without blemish: thou shalt prepare it every morning.
14 And thou shalt prepare a meat offering for it every morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of an hin of oil, to temper with the fine flour; a meat offering continually by a perpetual ordinance unto the Lord.
15 Thus shall they prepare the lamb, and the meat offering, and the oil, every morning for a continual burnt offering.
16 Thus saith the Lord God; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons’; it shall be their possession by inheritance.
17 But if he give a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the prince: but his inheritance shall be his sons’ for them.
18 Moreover the prince shall not take of the people’s inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession; but he shall give his sons inheritance out of his own possession: that my people be not scattered every man from his possession.
19 After he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers of the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place on the two sides westward.
20 Then said he unto me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the trespass offering and the sin offering, where they shall bake the meat offering; that they bear them not out into the utter court, to sanctify the people.
21 Then he brought me forth into the utter court, and caused me to pass by the four corners of the court; and, behold, in every corner of the court there was a court.
22 In the four corners of the court there were courts joined of forty cubits long and thirty broad: these four corners were of one measure.
23 And there was a row of building round about in them, round about them four, and it was made with boiling places under the rows round about.
24 Then said he unto me, These are the places of them that boil, where the ministers of the house shall boil the sacrifice of the people.

1Thus saith the Lord God, The gate of the inner court, that looketh toward the East, shalbe shut the sixe working dayes: but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the New moone it shalbe opened.

2And the Prince shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the Priests shall prepare his burnt offering, and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall goe foorth, but the gate shall not be shut vntil the euening.

3Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the doore of this gate before the Lord, in the Sabbaths, and in the New moones.

4And the burnt offering that the Prince shall offer vnto the Lord in the Sabbath day, shall be sixe lambes without blemish, and a ramme without blemish.

5And the meat offring shalbe an Ephah for a ramme, and the meate offering for the lambes as he shalbe able to giue, and an Hin of oile to an Ephah.

6And in the day of the New moone it shall be a yong bullocke without blemish, and sixe lambes, and a ramme: they shalbe without blemish.

7And hee shall prepare a meat offering, an Ephah for a bullocke, and an Ephah for a ramme, and for the lambs, according as his hand shall attaine vnto, and an Hin of oile to an Ephah.

8And when the Prince shall enter, he shall goe in by the way of the porch of that gate, and he shall goe foorth by the way thereof.

9 But when the people of the land shall come before the Lord, in the solemne feasts, he that entreth in by the way of the North gate to worship, shall goe out by the way of the South gate: and he that entreth by the way of the South gate, shall goe forth by the way of the North gate: he shall not returne by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall goe foorth ouer against it.

10And the Prince in the midst of them when they goe in, shal goe in, and when they goe foorth, shall goe forth.

11And in the feasts, and in the solemnities, the meat offering shalbe an Ephah to a bullocke, and an Ephah to a ramme, and to the lambes, as he is able to giue, and an Hin of oile to an Ephah.

12Now when the Prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings, voluntarily vnto the Lord, one shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the East, and he shall prepare his burnt offering, and his peace offerings, as hee did on the Sabbath day, then he shall goe foorth, and after his going foorth, one shall shut the gate.

13Thou shalt daily prepare a burnt offering vnto the Lord, of a lambe of the first yeere, without blemish thou shalt prepare it euery morning.

14And thou shalt prepare a meat offering for it euery morning; the sixt part of an Ephah, and the third part of an Hin of oyle, to temper with the fine flowre; a meat offering continually, by a perpetual ordinance vnto the Lord.

15Thus shall they prepare the lambe, and the meat offering, and the oyle, euery morning, for a continuall burnt offering.

16 Thus saith the Lord God, If the prince giue a gift vnto any of his sonnes, the inheritance thereof shall be his sonnes, it shall be their possession by inheritance:

17But if hee giue a gift of his inheritance to one of his seruants, then it shalbe his to the yeere of libertie: after, it shall returne to the Prince, but his inheritance shalbe his sonnes for them.

18Moreouer, the Prince shall not take of the peoples inheritance by oppression, to thrust them out of their possession: but hee shall giue his sonnes inheritance out of his owne possession, that my people be not scattered euery man from his possession.

19 After, he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers of the Priests which looked toward þe North: and behold, there was a place on the two sides Westward.

20Then said hee vnto me, This is the place where the Priests shall boyle the trespasse offring, and the sinne offering, where they shall bake the meate offering: that they beare them not out into the vtter court, to sanctifie the people.

21Then hee brought me foorth into the vtter court, and caused me to passe by the foure corners of the court, and behold, in euery corner of the court there was a court.

22In the foure corners of the court there were courts ioyned of fourtie cubits long, and thirtie broad: these foure corners were of one measure.

23And there was a new building round about in them, round about them foure and it was made with boyling places vnder the rowes round about.

24Then said he vnto me, These are the places of them that boyle, where the ministers of the house shall boyle the sacrifice of the people.

1 Thus says the Lord GOD: The gate toward the east of the inner court shall remain closed throughout the six working days, but on the sabbath and on the day of the new moon it shall be open.

2 The prince shall enter from outside by way of the vestibule of the gate and remain standing at the doorpost of the gate; then while the priests offer his holocausts and peace offerings, he shall worship at the threshold of the gate and then leave; the gate shall not be closed until evening.

3 The people of the land shall worship before the LORD at the door of this gate on the sabbaths and new moons.

4 The holocausts which the prince presents to the LORD on the sabbath shall consist of six unblemished lambs and an unblemished ram,

5 together with a cereal offering of one ephah for the ram, whatever he pleases for the lambs, and a hin of oil for each ephah.

6 On the day of the new moon he shall provide an unblemished young bull, also six lambs and a ram without blemish,

7 with a cereal offering of one ephah for the bull and one for the ram, for the lambs as much as he has at hand, and for each ephah a hin of oil.

8 The prince shall always enter and depart by the vestibule of the gate.

9 When the people of the land enter the presence of the LORD to worship on the festivals, if they enter by the north gate they shall leave by the south gate, and if they enter by the south gate they shall leave by the north gate; no one shall return by the gate through which he has entered, but he shall leave by the opposite gate.

10 The prince shall be in their midst when they enter, and he shall also leave with them.

11 On the feasts and festivals the cereal offering shall be an ephah for a bull, an ephah for a ram, but for the lambs as much as one pleases, and a hin of oil with each ephah.

12 When the prince makes a freewill offering to the LORD, whether holocausts or peace offerings, the eastern gate shall be opened for him, and he shall offer his holocausts or his peace offerings as on the sabbath; then he shall leave, and the gate shall be closed after his departure.

13 He shall offer as a daily holocaust to the LORD an unblemished yearling lamb; this he shall offer every morning.

14 With it every morning he shall provide as a cereal offering one sixth of an ephah, with a third of a hin of oil to moisten the fine flour. This cereal offering to the LORD is mandatory with the established holocaust.

15 The lamb, the cereal offering, and the oil are to be offered every morning as an established holocaust.

16 Thus says the Lord GOD: If the prince makes a gift of part of his inheritance to any of his sons, it shall belong to his sons; that property is theirs by inheritance.

17 But if he makes a gift of part of his inheritance to one of his servants, it shall belong to the latter only until the year of release, when it shall revert to the prince. Only the inheritance given to his sons is permanent.

18 The prince shall not seize any part of the inheritance of the people by evicting them from their property. He shall provide an inheritance for his sons from his own property, so that none of my people will be driven from their property.

19 Then he brought me by the entrance which is on the side of the gate to the chambers (of the sanctuary, reserved to the priests) which face the north. There, at their west end, I saw a place,

20 concerning which he said to me, "Here the priests cook the guilt offerings and the sin offerings, and bake the cereal offerings, so that they do not have to take them into the outer court at the risk of transmitting holiness to the people."

21 Then he led me into the outer court and had me pass around the four corners of the court, and I saw that in each corner there was another court:

22 in the four corners of the court, minor courts, forty cubits long and thirty wide, all four of them the same size.

23 A wall of stones surrounded each of the four, and hearths were built beneath the stones all the way around.

24 He said to me, "These are the kitchens where the temple ministers cook the sacrifices of the people."

v 1-10. The east gate is kept shut, except on the Sabbath and new moon for the prince to come offer and worship at the threshold, as the king used to stand by the pillar. (They have gone back to Sabbath worship as a sign, Ex. 31:13,17, as the Lord’s day is memorial.)His offerings are specified and he will come and go by that porch. The gate will be left open all day on that day only. The people shall worship at the door of this gate on those days. On special festivals, the people who come in the south gate will leave by the north gate and vice versa. They will not go in and out by the same gate. On those days the prince will go in and out mingling with them. After any contact with the Lord (church or devotions) we should be changed and not go on in the way we did before. (Wise men required to depart a different way after being with Jesus.)

v 11-15. If the prince wants to bring a voluntary offering, the east gate will be open for him and closed when he leaves. Morning offerings are listed, but not evening.

v 16-18. If the prince gives a gift of his inheritance to his sons, it remains with them, but if he gives to a servant, it shall revert back on the Day of Jubilee. He can not at any time tax the people or take any of their inheritance. Obviously he is not Christ.

v 19-24. The angel showed Ezekiel the priest’s kitchens at the west end of the priest chambers next to the temple proper and the kitchens for the people in all four corners of the outer court. Priests will cook the offering and all can eat and fellowship as in Lev. 7:15-18. Each of these kitchens was over 45x60 feet, but thousands came.
