1NOT unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.
14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.
18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

13Hee will blesse them that feare the Lord: both small and great.

14The Lord shall increase you more and more: you and your children.

15You are blessed of the Lord: which made heauen and earth.

16The heauen, euen the heauens are the Lords: but the earth hath hee giuen to the children of men.

17The dead praise not the Lord: neither any that go downe into silence.

18But we will blesse the Lord, from this time foorth and for euermore. Praise the Lord.

6 They have ears but do not hear, noses but do not smell.

7 They have hands but do not feel, feet but do not walk; they produce no sound from their throats.

8 Their makers will be like them, and anyone who trusts in them.

9 The house of Israel trusts in the LORD, who is their help and shield.

10 The house of Aaron trusts in the LORD, who is their help and shield.

11 Those who fear the LORD trust in the LORD, who is their help and shield.

12 The LORD remembers us and will bless us, will bless the house of Israel, will bless the house of Aaron,

13 Will bless those who fear the LORD, small and great alike.

14 May the LORD increase your number, yours and your descendants.

15 May you be blessed by the LORD, maker of heaven and earth.

16 The heavens belong to the LORD, but he has given the earth to the children of Adam.

17 The dead do not praise the LORD, not all those go down into silence.

18 It is we who bless the LORD, both now and forever. Hallelujah!

V 1,2 This is a call for God to vindicate Himself from Idolaters who ask believers where there God is. People after today’s catastrophes, “Where was God?”

V 3-8 Contrasted is the helplessness of idols and those who trust in them.

 

 

 

 

 

V 9-15 Everyone in Israel is urged to trust in the Lord and He will bless. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

V 16-18 Heaven is God’s, earth is for man, inferring no life on other planets.
