135 PRAISE OF GOD, THE RULER AND BENAFACTOR OF ISRAEL
1Praise ye the Lord, Praise ye the Name of the Lord: prayse him, O ye seruants of the Lord.
2Yee that stand in the House of the Lord: in the courts of the house of our God.
3Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good: sing praises vnto his Name, for it is pleasant.
4For the Lord hath chosen Iacob vnto himselfe: and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
5For I know that the Lord is great: and that our Lord is aboue all gods.
6Whatsoeuer the Lord pleased, that did he in heauen and in earth: in the Seas, and all deepe places.
7Hee causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth, he maketh lightnings for the raine: he bringeth the winde out of his treasuries.
8Who smote the first borne of Egypt: both of man and beast.
9Who sent tokens and woonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt: vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his seruants.
10Who smote great nations: and slew mightie kings:
11Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan: and all the kingdomes of Canaan,
12And gaue their land for an heritage: an heritage vnto Israel his people.
13Thy Name, O Lord, endureth for euer: and thy memoriall, O Lord, throughout all generations.
14For the Lord will iudge his people: and he will repent himselfe concerning his seruants.
15The idoles of the heathen are siluer and golde: the worke of mens hands.
16They haue mouthes, but they speake not: eyes haue they, but they see not:
17They haue eares, but they heare not: neither is there any breath in their mouthes.
18They that make them are like vnto them: so is euery one that trusteth in them.
19Blesse the Lord, O house of Israel: blesse the Lord, O house of Aaron.
20Blesse the Lord, O house of Leui: ye that feare the Lord, blesse the Lord.
21Blessed be the Lord out of Zion; which dwelleth at Ierusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

1 Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD! Praise, you servants of the LORD,
2 Who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God!
3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good! Sing to his name, for it brings joy!
4 For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his treasured possession.
5 For I know that the LORD is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods.
6 Whatever the LORD desires he does in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the depths.
7 It is he who raises storm clouds from the end of the earth, makes lightning for the rain, and brings forth wind from his storehouse.
8 He struck down Egypt’s firstborn, of human being and beast alike,
9 And sent signs and wonders against you, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 It is he who struck down many nations, and slew mighty kings—
11 Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, all the kings of Canaan—
12 And made their land a heritage, a heritage for Israel his people.
13 O LORD, your name is forever, your renown, from generation to generation!
14 For the LORD defends his people, shows mercy to his servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands.
16 They have mouths but do not speak; they have eyes but do not see;
17 They have ears but do not hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.
18 Their makers will become like them, and anyone who trusts in them.
19 House of Israel, bless the LORD! House of Aaron, bless the LORD!
20 House of Levi, bless the LORD! You who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
21 Blessed be the LORD from Zion, who dwells in Jerusalem! Hallelujah!
v 1-3 Priests are urged to praise the Lord for His goodness. In Nature and in history a son of praise for God's wonderful works, lighting, vepors, winds, miracles in the wilderness and in Egypt
v 4-7 Two reasons for praise, first, God chose Israel, and second, He is greater than pagan gods because He has absolute control of the weather.
v 8-12 Third, He was sovereign from deliverance from Egypt to entering the land.
v 13,14 Fourth, He is sovereign in what He will do for Israel in the future.
v 15-18 God is so superior to idols who have no senses and cannot save.
v 19-21 He closes with a plea for all Israel to bless the Lord.
