KING JAMES BIBLE

LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

4 Who disdains the wicked, but honors those who fear the LORD; Who keeps an oath despite the cost,

5 lends no money at interest, accepts no bribe against the innocent. Whoever acts like this shall never be shaken.

COMMENTARIE

TRUE CITIZENS OF ZIM Psalm 14 Universal Sinfulness. In Romans 3:10-12 it was quoted; Infidels are called fools and there will be a Day of Judgment.

v 1. David asks the question, “Who can abide in God’s presence?” Honest, Just, Truthful, Rigthteous.

Thomas Jefferson stated "That this Psalm was the picture of a true gentlement."

v 2-5. The general answer is, the righteous. He follows with some characteristics of the righteous. v2, They walk uprightly and speak the truth. They don’t slander, harm or discredit others. He shuns evil but honor those who fear God. He keeps his word no matter what. He doesn’t extort (Jews couldn’t charge interest to fellow Jews) or take bribes. These have some comparison to the 10 commandments, which do not save a person, but show where they fail. Salvation is only by faith and your faith will show your fruit.
